The subject of this post is motion
graphics and some of the applications you can experience it the power of
something that sounds so simple. But to
really appreciate motion graphics, I feel it’s important to start at the
beginning of it all and see how it all started.
To really understand where motion graphics really took off,
you will see most designers bring up the program After Effects. With After Effects you can create beautiful, mind-blowing effects and import them directly
into another popular program, Premiere Pro. The best part of this, After Effects Projects files can be used into
Premier without even converting them.
But motion
graphics did not start with After Effects, according to Motion + Design, motion graphics are, well, any
kind of graphics that move—which means that the prehistory of the art form goes
all the back to that of cinema itself. Some of the more notable names that can be associated with
motion graphics are Norman McLaren and Saul Bass.
The future of motion graphics is
indeed promising and is becoming more intertwined; quite simply motion graphics
is without a doubt becoming the 21st century’s dominate visual art
form.
But not just in film, motion graphics
is taking its hold in visual journalism; in newsrooms everywhere motion
graphics utilize software and contemporary approaches to communicate in new
ways, utilizing digital storytelling techniques, like video footage, animation,
photography, sound and voice over to convey stories in dynamic ways.
